Background of Program

Diploma in Pharmacy program received full accreditation on 8/10/2013.  The first intake of students began in July 2011. The objective of this program is to educate and produce Pharmacy Technicians (Assistants) who will be able to work in a wide range of pharmacy sectors.

Currently the program run under the Faculty of Pharmacy as a division and the academic staffs are now strengthened with professional specialising in the academic as pharmaceutical industries, community, research, administration as well policies.

Since 2013 until today, the program has graduated more than 2000 Pharmacist Technicians (Assistants) and are serving in the various field of pharmacy.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO)

PEO     Description
PEO 1
To educate and produce Pharmacy Assistants who will be able to work in a wide range of pharmaceutical fields.
PEO 2
To provide students with the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical experience in areas of Pharmacy Assistant.
PEO 3
To prepare the students for any future professional conduct in conformity with existing regulations and ethical norms.
PEO 4
To provide an educational programme that fosters the intellectual, and personnel development of students, facilitates student to achieve their maximum potential and prepares them to responsible careers as Pharmacy Assistant.
PEO 5
To ensure fitness for practice by offering education that meets the requirements of the statutory and professional bodies and are responsive to the specific needs of national and international standards.
PEO 6
To provide a supportive, stimulating and demanding educational programme that ensures continuity of learning between theory and practice and promotes lifelong learning.
PEO 7
Incorporate the skills of self-development.

Admission Requirements

  • Passed SPM / SPMV / O-Level with minimum 3 credits; 1 of which must be from a Science subject.
  • Passed Certificate from IPTS approved by Ministry of Higher Education with Standard Minimum; or
  • Any qualifications that are recognized by the Malaysian Government; or
  • Overseas qualifications that are recognized by the Malaysian Government.
