Background of Program

The Medical Laboratory Technology Program shall prepare our graduates with sense of responsibilities, efficient, dedication and equipped with compassionate, holistic patient-care and continuous professional development. With integrity and ethics, we shall serve the nation and the environment with creative ideas without compromising on our responsibilities.

Medical laboratory technology is health care based discipline involving laboratory investigations related to diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. Perform various sophisticated tests to analyze a variety of samples blood, urine, sputum, tissues and other body fluid.

Medical Laboratory Technicians perform routine laboratory testing or in research laboratory and assigned tasks with quality control and quality assurance. That covers in all areas of the clinical laboratory including Blood banking, Clinical chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, Histopathology, Cytology and Microbiology.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO)

PEO     Description
PEO 1
To educate and produce Pharmacy Assistants who will be able to work in a wide range of pharmaceutical fields.
PEO 2
To provide students with the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical experience in areas of Pharmacy Assistant.
PEO 3
To prepare the students for any future professional conduct in conformity with existing regulations and ethical norms.
PEO 4
To provide an educational programme that fosters the intellectual, and personnel development of students, facilitates student to achieve their maximum potential and prepares them to responsible careers as Pharmacy Assistant.
PEO 5
To ensure fitness for practice by offering education that meets the requirements of the statutory and professional bodies and are responsive to the specific needs of national and international standards.

To provide a supportive, stimulating and demanding educational programme that ensures continuity of learning between theory and practice and promotes lifelong learning.

Admission Requirements

Pass SPM/SPMV at least 5 Credits:

  1. Pass in Melayu Language
  2. Pass in English Language
  3. Mathematic
  4. Any 1 subject (Science/ Physic/ Biology/ Chemistry/ Basic Science or Applied Sciences)
  5. Any 3 other subjects (Include credit in Malay Language and/ English Language)

OR

Certificate in related Health Sciences with minimum CGPA 2.75.
