Background of Program

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at UCMI is a graduate-level academic degree that provides students with a thorough understanding of various aspects of business, management, and leadership. It is widely recognized and highly regarded as a professional degree globally. An MBA program equips students with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the competitive and dynamic business world.

The MBA program primarily focuses on developing a strong foundation in key areas such as finance, accounting, marketing, operations management, human resources, and strategy. Its aim is to provide students with a holistic understanding of how businesses operate and how different functional areas of a company interact to achieve organizational goals. The curriculum of UCMI’s MBA program typically includes core courses as well as elective courses.

Core courses in the UCMI MBA program cover fundamental business disciplines and are designed to provide a broad understanding of the business environment. These courses may include subjects such as Managerial Accounting, FinTech, Business Economics, Business Research Methodology, Marketing Management, Strategic Management, Business Process Management, Organizational Behavior, Digital Business & Entrepreneurship, Research Project, International Business & Ethics, and Management Information Systems. Elective courses allow students to tailor their MBA experience to their specific interests and career goals. They can choose three elective courses that delve deeper into specialized areas such as Industrial & Organizational Psychology, Healthcare Management, and Knowledge Management & Business Intelligence. Electives provide students with the opportunity to develop expertise in their chosen fields and gain a competitive edge in the job market.

UCMI’s MBA programs also place emphasis on experiential learning through real-world projects and case studies. These practical learning experiences enable students to apply their classroom knowledge to real business challenges, develop problem-solving skills, and gain hands-on experience in a business environment.

In addition to the core curriculum, MBA programs often offer additional opportunities for personal and professional development. These may include leadership development workshops, guest lectures by industry experts, career counseling, networking events, and alumni engagement activities. UCMI MBA programs also facilitate international study trips or exchange programs to expose students to global business practices and cultures.

The duration of UCMI’s MBA programs offers two modes. Full-time MBA programs typically span one year, while part-time MBA programs may be completed over a longer period to accommodate working professionals. Some courses also offer online or hybrid MBA programs, allowing students to pursue their degree while balancing other commitments.

Completing an MBA program can open up a wide range of career opportunities across industries and sectors. Graduates often pursue managerial and leadership roles in corporations, start their own businesses, work in consulting firms, venture into finance or investment banking, or take up positions in the nonprofit or public sectors. UCMI’s MBA degree is highly valued by employers for its emphasis on strategic thinking, analytical skills, leadership abilities, and business acumen.
