Faculty of General Studies and Foundation (FSSF) was established in December 2021 accordance with rebranding the faculty name and in line with the Transformation Plan by Vice Chancellor’s, Professor Dr. Wan Mohd Azizi bin Wan Sulaiman as one of the initiatives towards full university status.

Previously, the Faculty of General Studies and Foundation was known as Centre of Excellence (COE) in 2019 and Faculty of Social Science and Foundation (FSSF) in January 2021. The faculty includes three (3) main departments which are Department of General Studies, Department of Foundation and Department of Language.

FPUA offers one year pre-university program at the Foundation level. Two programs are Foundation in Science and Foundation in Business offers to Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) leavers students with duration of three semester of studies. The program designed to enhance the study and learning skills that are essential for undergraduate study.

The faculty also offers MQA Compulsory courses which are Mata Pelajaran Umum (MPU) at Diploma and Bachelor level. The course offers to produce students who master in soft skills, enhance understanding of History, Philosophy and noble values as preparation for the working world. The Language Department offers Short Course Program such as Intensive Class and Preparatory Course to students and alumni.

FGSF aims to improve the academic quality and excellence education to produce skilled and holistic graduates in the future.
