Background of Program

The Bachelor of Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health (Honours) is a hybrid program which provides students with theoretical and practical skills to protect the health and safety of employees and the public as well as the environment from hazards associated with the workplace and environmental factors.

Vision: 

To be the excellent nation’s provider of OSHE education in academic and non-academic fields, well-presented attitudes and knowledgeable in high demand professionals.

Mission:

To produce and prepare graduates that meet the local and worldwide standards for internationally known, as well as to provide knowledgeable candidates that meet the current work demands.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO)

PEO     Description
PEO 1
To provide graduates who are knowledgeable in any field related to environmental, safety and health profession both national or internationally.
PEO 2
To produce competent graduate who are able to uphold positions of Safety Health and Environmental Practitioner in line with current technology and demand of Environmental, Occupational Safety & Health field.
PEO 3
To produce graduate who are able to demonstrate leadership skills across a range of context and audience (multi-disciplinary team) by using appropriate communication skill.
PEO 4
To produce graduate who contribute effectively in practice professionalism, with ethics and social responsibility to society and the environment;
PEO 5
To produce graduate who are able to respond and adapt on the changing situation, enhanced supervisory and managerial capabilities through lifelong learning development and awareness on current environmental , occupational safety and health issues

Assess and analyse issues of environmental, occupational safety and health in workplaces and the community.

Interpret, analyse, synthesis and recommend preventive and corrective measures in environmental, occupational safety and health.

Apply evidence-based scientific principles in discussing ideas of improvement in environmental, occupational safety and health.
PLO 4
Demonstrate sensitivities and responsibilities towards the community, culture, religion and environment.
PLO 5
Adhere to the legal, ethical principles and the professional code of conduct in environmental, occupational safety and health.

Communicate in verbal and written forms with workers, other safety, health and environmental professionals, stakeholders and the community at large.

Admission Requirements

Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) / Matriculation / A-Level / Pre-University/Foundation with a minimum of Grade C (GPA 2.33) in any two (2) subjects, or its equivalent AND Possess SPM with three (3) credits In Mathematics, one science subject and one any other subject, or its equivalent. ;

OR

Diploma (MQF Level 4) in a related field 2.50 CGPA; CGPA below 2.50 may be supported by at least two (2) years (24 months) working experience in a relevant field;

OR

Other qualifications recognized as equivalent by the Government of Malaysia.

OR

Any program with equivalent qualifications as accepted by the University Senate.
