Background of Program

Diploma Medical & Health Sciences is a new name and formally is Diploma in Medical Assistant before. This new name diploma had started September 22 intake with the new curriculum.

The Medical Assistant Program of UCMI prepares graduates to seek employment in a wide variety of health/human service fields, as registered Assistant Medical Officer or as generalist practitioners in a variety of private or governmental human service organizations leading to initial licensure as a registered Assistant Medical Officer. The major curriculum in this course are Promotive , Preventive , Curative , Rehabilitative and Palliative for humanities and the biological and social sciences as well as the theoretical and clinical practice background necessary for the practice of professional Medical Assistant.

After the end of the programme, the student will have an examination session to complete registration under Malaysia Medical Assistant Board (MAB) under Act 180 ( Akta Pembantu Perubatan ). Alumni will have the Certificate of Registration MAB and need to do an Annual Renew Certificate (ARC)   to continue the medical practice.
