Background of Program

Master in Health Science is the combination of competencies required by students in their career and also in their studies. The studies are including issues related to bioethics, biosafety, biodefense, and other concern in the health science. At the end of this program, students are expected to master soft skills, to develop intellectual, values and attitudes and also practical competencies that are required to be an efficient and effective logistician who will then contribute to the society. During the research project, student mater the respective procedures and be assessed on the competency skills of the respective posting.

Aim of Study

  1. Master of Health Science is a two years program minimum for full time and three years program minimum for part time which aims to provide specific field in health science.
  2. In order to achieve this, the compulsory courses intended to strengthen your foundation for research which are Research Design & Methodology and Research Analysis & Statistics.
  3. Along with the program, student will conduct research project (fieldwork) by propose the project, fulfil supervisor’s progress monitoring reports, writing the thesis and end with viva presentation.

Admission Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree of biomedical science or any health-related biological Sciences program with minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) 2.50 or equivalent, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment and accepted by Senate; or
  • A bachelor’s degree of biomedical science or any health-related biological Sciences program with CGPA 2.50 below can be accepted subject to a minimum of three years working experience in relevant field.
  • For international students, a minimum International English Language Test (IELTS) score of 5.5 or its equivalent (e.g. Teaching English Language as Foreign Language (TOEFL – 525, TOEFL Computer Test – 196, TOEFL Internet Test 69-70 or MUET Band 4) is required.

This programme serves as an alternative pathway to pursue Postgraduate Study – Doctor of Philosophy Science PhD (in UCMI or any accredited IPTs), Public Health program, Biomedical Science, Medical Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, Nutrition, Dietetic, Mental Health, or PhD in any fields of Health Science-related multidiscipline in any accredited IPT or Universities outside Malaysia.

Professional/ Competency Certificate in any fields of Health Science-related multidiscipline.
